The Old Doctor's Residence dates from the 1870s making it one of the oldest lived in houses in New Zealand. It has a rich and fascinating history.
Nestled in Naseby, the ‘jewel’ of the dramatic Maniototo, “The Old Doctor’s Residence” will provide you with a peaceful retreat or a base for action-packed adventures. Our historic home started life as a gold miner’s cottage in the 1870s before developing into the home and surgery of the town’s doctors over the years. It has been sensitively restored into luxury bed and breakfast accommodation furnished with antique colonial furniture and contemporary New Zealand works of art.
The guest wing offers you privacy, with two elegant and tastefully decorated suites and a guest lounge, for your comfort and relaxation. We have also now made available the larger Guest lounge with a log fire and extra TV for your enjoyment. A short stroll will take you to the historic centre of Naseby village, the village green, the Hogburn and the fascinating cemetery. For the more energetic, there are plenty of activities to savour in the surrounding areas.
